Ken J. Hawkins, ACAS, MAAA, is a consulting actuary with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources in the Bloomington, Illinois, office. Mr. Hawkins re-joined Pinnacle in 2019 after three years with a regional property casualty insurer where he was responsible for pricing and rate implementation for all the company’s commercial lines products. He has been in the property/casualty practice area since 2006. Mr. Hawkins has considerable experience in assignments involving loss reserving, funding studies, cost allocation mechanisms, loss cost projections, captive feasibility studies, commercial lines ratemaking, financial analysis of insurance companies, deductible analysis, risk margin calculations and simulation methods.
Trenton J. Lipka, ACAS, MAAA, is an associate actuary with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, in the Bloomington, Illinois, office. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in actuarial science from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He began working in the property/casualty insurance industry in 2017. Mr. Lipka has experience in assignments involving loss reserving, loss cost projections, captive funding and feasibility studies, and large data processing. He has worked with loss reserve analyses for group captive insurers writing workers’ compensation, general liability, auto liability, auto physical damage coverage, and inland marine. Mr. Lipka also has technical and analytics experience which has been used to provide insight into and improvements of key business processes.
