Pinnacle Promotes Laura Maxwell to Director and Jordan Paszek to Consulting Actuary

Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc. (Pinnacle) announced the promotions of Laura Maxwell to director and consulting actuary and Jordan Paszek to consulting actuary.

“These are two important promotions of key members of our outstanding professional staff,” Managing Principal Joe Herbers said. “There are few in our industry with more industry knowledge and actuarial expertise than Laura. She is a highly regarded consultant and authority on professionalism considerations and actuarial standards of practice. Laura is a model of integrity for our firm and industry.”

Maxwell joined Pinnacle in 2005. She has been in the property and casualty industry since 1987 and has served as a consultant since 2003. She has participated on a number of key committees within the profession and is a speaker and published author on a variety of essential insurance industry topics including automobile liability, homeowners, cyber risk and workers’ compensation, among others.

Maxwell is Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). She is a member on the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar Planning Committee, E-Forum Committee, and is a syllabus part vice chair of the Syllabus and Examination Committee. She is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA) Cyber Risk Task Force and a member of the Actuarial Science Advisory Board at the University of the Pacific. Maxwell is also a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA).

The focus of her actuarial practice includes public entities, enterprise risk management, loss reserving, predictive analytics and others.

Jordan Paszek is the firm’s newest consulting actuary. Paszek has been with Pinnacle since 2015, most recently in an associate actuary role.

“The firm is delighted to congratulate Jordan on his promotion to consulting actuary,” Herbers said. “He is a talented practitioner with a commitment to delivering a high-level of customer service. We believe Jordan will be an excellent addition to our consulting team.”

Paszek has contributed to the analyses for multiple group captives and insurance companies in a variety of roles and has extensive experience conducting actuarial studies for captives, self-insureds and traditional insurance companies involving loss reserving, loss cost projections, risk margin calculations, simulation methods and commercial lines ratemaking.

Paszek is an Associate of the CAS (ACAS) and is a member on the CAS Member Advisory Panel.
