Recent technological advances have been shaking up industries with traditionally lengthy, stable histories. Just look at how the taxi industry has been impacted by ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft. The trucking industry is just as vulnerable to change. New technologies are impacting the way trucks are driven and causing us to consider whether we even need humans to drive them at all. 
Educational Opportunities Await at the 2016 CAS RPM Seminar
With the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) Ratemaking and Product Management (RPM) Seminar around the corner, I would like to take a moment to highlight a couple of the conference’s educational sessions.

Pinnacle is excited to be attending the 2016 Ratemaking and Product Management (RPM) Seminar sponsored by the Casualty Actuarial Society in Orlando, Florida from March 14—16. This three-day seminar includes over 70 educational sessions on ratemaking, predictive modeling and product management.
Google Compare: A Textbook Case of Innovation Gone Right
In 2011, Google purchased BeatThatQuote, an auto insurance price comparison site in the UK. This led to the launch of Google Compare in the UK in 2012, and provided auto insurance quotes from participating insurance company partners to internet searchers. In March, 2015, Google announced the launch of a similar insurance aggregator site in the United States called “Google Compare for Auto Insurance.” Today, February 23, 2016, less than one year after launching the site in the US, Google announced that it will be shutting down Google Compare in both the US and the UK.
